Creating a fun & friendly identity for Taideklubi
"Let's create an art club here in Jyväskylä!"
In 2022, driven by a constant crave for a community of like-minded people interested in art, my sister and I -- both students at University of Jyväskylä then -- founded the very first art organization on campus -- Taideklubi. As a robust hobby organization that meets on campus every Tuesday evening for a relaxed drawing session together, today Taideklubi has grown to become a place of belonging for more than 100 members across 15 nationalities.
As the Taideklubi co-founder and designer, I aimed to create a unique visual look for Taideklubi that is fun and friendly with a burst of personality, just like the organization itself. The hand-lettered logo with a personalized dragon character reflects the Year of the Dragon in which Taideklubi was successfully acknowledged by the University as Yliopiston Taideklubi. On the other hand, being casual and convivial, the logo brings out the lively character of youth while inspiring the urge to pick up the brush at the end of the logo and start drawing already. Along with four vibrant brand colors, the visual identity as a whole reflects the essence of Taideklubi as a fun and warm space for art and creativity.
